GRP Shift Cable Ends for Lotus Evora, Evora S, 400, 410,430, GT, Exige V6 & Emira

Regular price $69.99

One of the biggest gripes with the V6 cars from Lotus has been the shifting feel and experience.  Part of that is due to the rubber bushing type cable ends at the transmission connections for shifting.  These bushings are made from soft rubber which creates a lot of deflection (extra unneeded movement) when operating the shifter.

We help solve this with a nice solid heim type cable end that has zero slop or deflection giving the shifting a much more solid and precise feel.

These rod ends are a teflon lined high quality steel rod end so they never need to be lubricated and should never wear out even after 100k miles of use.

Access to install is a bit tight but the actual swap is as easy as loosening the lock nut, popping the retaining clip out, pulling the cable off the transmission linkage and swapping the cable ends.

Includes: Two GRP Shift Cable Ends, One for the shift cable and one for the cross gate cable.

*You will reuse your factory cotter pins and locknuts.

Basic install:

  • Remove rear engine cover (if applicable) by pulling upward out of the rubber ball sockets on each corner.
  • You may need to remove your airbox to get enough room to access the cable ends.
  • Remove cotter clip from stock linkage on shift cable and crossgate cable - be careful not to drop it!
  • Loosen lock nut on cable shaft using two 10mm end wrenchs
  • Pull stock cable end up off of the bell crank/crossgate linkage.
  • Remove factory rubber bushing cable end from cable.
  • Install new cable ends
  • Thread the rod end onto the cable so that the shifter maintains a centered/neutral position. As long as you dont pull/push on the cable it should stay put in the center position and you will just need to thread it on until shifter body lines up and drops onto the bell crank.
  • Tighten up lock nuts
  • Verify shifter position and functionality
  • Install safety clips
